Primary Prior Positions: Worked in manufacturing sector for 5+ years prior to joining Presbyterian Homes.
Current and Past Volunteer Work and Positions Held: Member of West Ridge Fire Department since 1980, past President, Vice President and Secretary; Treasurer of Westminster Presbyterian Church since 1992.
Education: Graduated from Penn State University in 1981 - BS Accounting
Family: Married to Lisa since 1986, one son, Nicholas
Carl Waterhouse
Administrator, Erie Presbyterian Lodge
Time with Presby Homes: 8 years
Primary Prior Positions: I worked at Eastman Kodak for almost 20 years in a variety of positions (customer support, sales, and marketing management) world-wide. Then my last division was bought out by Danka where I held national and regional sales and marketing management positions. I then moved back to Erie, PA to work at RentWay, a national rent-to-own organization with 1,000+ stores, in store support management position. I also was an Adjunct and Contract Faculty member at Rochester Institute of Technology for 6 years
Current and Past Volunteer Work and Positions Held: Former Presbyterian Homes board member; current board member for APCA (Association of Personal Care Administrators of Pennsylvania)
Education: I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Family: Married to Jean since 1971 and have two adopted fraternal twin children from Bulgaria, Lee and Rebecca ages 22.
Elizabeth Kachel
Administrator, Manchester Presbyterian Lodge
Time with Presby Homes: 13 years
Primary Prior Positions: I have worked in Long Term Care for 20 + years. Prior to my position as Administrator of Manchester Presbyterian Lodge, I was Director of Admissions and Social Service as well as Assistant Administrator for a long term care facility.
Current and Past Volunteer Work and Positions Held: For the past 6 years, I have been the Chairperson of the Advisory Committee for CareGivers Health Services. Annually, I volunteer for the American Cancer Society’s fund drive. In 2008, I was a Panel Member and Presenter for the “Key Tools for Leadership Development”, at the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging Annual Meeting and Expo in Philadelphia, PA.
Education: I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 1978 from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Family: Married to Ernie since 1996, we share our home with our two dogs. Born and raised in Fairview, PA, I feel fortunate as a member of Presbyterian Homes to be able to provide love and care for the Elders of my hometown.
Martha Shreffler
Administrator, Oil City Presbyterian Home
Time with Presby Homes: 22 Years
Primary Prior Positions: Prior to becoming administrator, I served as the Director of Social Services of the facility from 1988 until 1996. At that time, I was responsible for all of the admissions and social work duties.
Current and Past Volunteer Work and Positions Held: I currently serve on the advisory board of the DuBois Business College in Oil City. In the past, I served on the board of the Family Services and Children’s Aid Society in Oil City. I have also volunteered my time at the YMCA Oil City Hockey Deck.
Education: I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health Science and a Certificate in Gerontology from Slippery Rock University
Family: Married with two children and two step-children, 3 girls and a boy ranging in age from 14 to 18.
Penny Hart
Manager, Battles Village
Time with Presby Homes: 18 years
Primary Prior Positions: Worked in manufacturing for 9 years.
Current and Past Volunteer Work and Positions Held: Co-captained a Relay for Life Team for several years.
Education: Registered Housing Professional, Certificated Manager of Housing, Certified Occupancy Specialist, Certified in Rural Housing Section 515, Service Coordinator Certification and Fair Housing Certification.
Family: Married Paul in May 1982, one daughter, 22 years old
