Construction Updates

Renovation and Expansion Project

Manchester Presbyterian Lodge is expanding and improving our building. This project supports Presbyterian Homes’ commitment to providing high quality services and living space for those in our care. Currently, we are constructing four nursing neighborhoods that contain both private space and common space. Each individual residing in the neighborhood will have a private bedroom and private bath with a European shower.

Neighborhoods will be made up of sixteen private suites, a common living area, dining area, kitchen, laundry room and spa. This new floor plan maximizes privacy and enhances the opportunity for socialization as private areas and common areas are in close proximity in each neighborhood.

Redefining Staff Roles

Presbyterian Homes began the culture change journey in 2007 by establishing organizational Core Values that include integrity, quality commitment, leadership, stewardship and faith. The leadership team of Presbyterian Homes took a “walk the talk” approach committing to setting an example for middle management and frontline staff by exhibiting behaviors that supported the organizational Core Values. Through the use of perception surveys, training and professional coaching, Presbyterian Homes’ middle management and frontline employees are better equipped to work in the team environment necessary to make true culture change a success.

What we hope to accomplish.

By employing an interdisciplinary, teamwork approach and making physical renovations, Presbyterian Homes’ goal is to be the place residents are glad to call home. Where they can choose to eat breakfast in their pajamas, play cards with friends or snuggle up with a book in their favorite chair. Gone is the outdated, institutional setting where residents are transported to large cafeteria-style dining rooms to sit at assigned tables. No longer will efficiency excuse the mindset of tasks being more important than resident individuality. Whether spending a sunny afternoon in the backyard or visiting with friends over a cup of coffee, residents will choose what they want to do and when they want to do it. Presbyterian Homes is committed to providing the supportive services residents need, while maintaining individuality, choice and dignity that residents deserve.
